Prolla Goes Out

Prolla poked her nose out of the hole in the ice and saw the sun. Prolla liked the sun because Prolla was a baby polar bear.
Prolla saw something moving. First she thought it was just snow falling, and then she realised it was her father. Her mother Pyan, said “Your father is calling for you Prolla”.
Prolla had never been out on her own before, so she was very excited about going out alone for the first time. Her father called her again “Come to me Prolla”.

Prolla scampered across the snow and ice until she reached Prowl, her father.  Prowl said “Well done little bear for getting here on your own. Would you like to go fishing with me?” he asked.

“I don’t want to go into the cold sea because I cannot swim yet and it’s just too wet daddy” replied Prolla.
“That’s fine, you can just watch. Let’s go the edge of the ice by the sea” smiled Prowl.

Prolla followed her father through the fresh fluffy snow. Then she stopped and watched Prowl walking closer to the edge of the ice by the sea.

Prowl turned his head and said ‘Wait here for me’. So Prolla sat on the snow and watched her father slip gently into the water and disappear.

Moments later he was sat on the snow with her eating a fresh fish.

When they were both full-up, Prowl laid down on a pile of snow to rest.

Prolla climbed on her Daddy’s back, snuggled up and fell asleep. After a while, she woke up.

Prowl and Prolla wandered back home to tell Pyan about Prolla's first trip across the ice and snow.

At home, they all played tickling games and laughed together until it was time for Prolla to sleep.

So Prolla curled up in a corner with her head on Pyan’s lap and fell fast asleep.

Night Night, Prolla
